Staff Accountant

Turner Dairy is once again excited to add more talent to our team. Turner Dairy Farms, a family-owned company, is looking for a career minded individual to assist with various accounting roles such as AR, AP, and credit management. This is an entry level full-time position working 40 hours per week on site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and verify payments for invoices
  • Post payments into ERP system and actively track customer payment schedules
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and issues
  • Pursue and collect on delinquent accounts
  • Provide backup coverage for route settlement desk
  • Assist leadership teams with ad hoc projects, reports, and other requests
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred
  • 1-2 years of work-related accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and credit management
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment

Driver in Training

Turner Dairy is once again excited to add more talent to our team. Turner Dairy Farms, a family-owned company, is looking for a full-time Driver-in-Training. The Driver-in-Training position allows a prospective candidate, with little to no experience operating a commercial vehicle, the opportunity to obtain a Class-B CDL through a company paid training program.

Upon obtaining the Class-B CDL, it is intended, based on availability at completion of the training, that the employee will transition to the Delivery Driver Salesman role. The Delivery Driver Salesman will be part of a team responsible for driving and delivering milk, dairy products, juices, teas, and other products to customers. This position is a full-time position and requires an active CDL, valid Medical DOT card, great driving record and great customer service.

Job Description:

  • Attend required training to obtain Class-B CDL
  • Successfully complete All State Career School Class B CDL course
  • Test for and obtain a Class-B CDL permit
  • Learn Turner Dairy product line
  • Learn truck loading procedures

Job Requirements:

  • Clean DOT drug test
  • Valid DOT medical card and physical
  • Successful non-prohibited query of FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
  • Motor Vehicle Report clear of violations
  • Great customer service and communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Ability to work overtime or extended hours when needed

CDL Delivery Driver – Pittsburgh

Turner Dairy Farms, Inc. Delivery Driver/Salesperson will provide consistent, on-time delivery, and outstanding customer service for an assigned route.  Class B or Class A CDL license is required for this position. Must be able to drive standard manual transmission vehicles and not have a manual transmission restriction on their license. This is a full time position and you will be home every night.

Job Description:

  • Deliver products to customers in a safe and timely manner. Products will be bulk loaded onto the truck and orders are picked off of the truck
  • As a driver salesman you will also promote new and additional products to customers
  • Provide a high level of customer service and solve customer issues as they arise
  • Serve as primary interface with the customer
  • Merchandising and rotation of products at the customer location
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Fuel and add oil daily and as needed to the truck and the truck refrigeration unit.
  • Maintain a valid Class A or Class B Commercial driver license (without an automatic restriction)
  • Maintain a current DOT medical card
  • Know and comply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Perform pre trip and post trip inspections
  • Report to the garage truck mechanics of any mechanical issues with the truck
  • Secure load at the start of the day and after each delivery stop
  • Load and unload cases of products manually using a hook, hand cart, pallet-jack onto or off of the delivery truck
  • Use of the truck rear lift gate in moving products
  • Collection of empty cases at customer locations and unloading of those cases upon return to the dairy
  • Submit route paperwork and customer collections daily including signed invoices, collections sheet, credit slips
  • Work schedule will consist of covering other driver vacations or days off until a position for a regular route opens up.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours per week. Depending on the schedule; ability to work over 10 hours in a day (4 days a week schedule) or over 8 hours in a day (5 day a week schedule)
  • Unless assigned a route that works every Saturday, will need to work every 3 rd or 4th Saturday
  • Work schedule could include working on a holiday. (No work on Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year Day)
  • Starting time depends on the route worked and could be anywhere between midnight and 6 am.
  • If not assigned to delivery on a regular route this person could be assigned to deliver special orders out of the dairy office
  • Follow all required work safety practices and regulations.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Class B or Class A CDL license with air brake endorsement and with at least 1 year of driving experience
  • Must be able to drive manual standard transmission trucks and not have a manual transmission restriction on the commercial driver license
  • Prior history of employment providing customer service desired
  • Must be able to drive, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend for the entire shift
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to six cases of products (weighing up to 240 lbs)
  • Ability to use a hand cart, dolly, pallet-jack, and hook to pull cases of products
  • Ability to move 200 and up to 500 cases of products during the day
  • Ability to use a dolly to move cases of products up curbs
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to safely climb in and out of the truck cab and in and out of the rear of the truck multiple times a day
  • Ability to work a lift gate safety
  • Be able to work in different environments and weather conditions ranging from minus degrees to over 100 degrees. Snow, Rain, Sleet, Wind. Moderate noise, and slippery surfaces

Plant/ Cooler Loadout

This job consists of general warehousing duties. These duties will include but are not limited to accurate and efficient pulling and loading orders for outbound trucks and trailers. Stock replenishment, cleanup, and completion of all associated paperwork. Proper rotation of products and maintaining quality standards. This is a labor intensive job.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Rotate ingredients and resale items (First In, First out) in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP
  • Complete all records required by federal, state and local authorities
  • Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner
  • Maintain the facilities so that it meets OSHA standards and requirements
  • Ability to match product with loading sheets
  • Inspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
  • Must follow all GMP, SQF & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and or fork lift in a safe manner
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Physical Demand: 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear.
  • Good manual dexterity required for using a hook
  • Balance-able to have good balance for pulling product, walking around in floor track, lifting full cases of product shoulder high.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently push and or pull up to 240 pounds while using a hook.
  • Ability to work in all types of environments from various outside weather to inside conditions which can range in temperatures and humidity
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Majority of the day is spent working in a cold environment
