Ingredients
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups Charlie’s Old Time Buttermilk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup diced apple
- ½ cup flour
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
Directions
The night before, in a large bowl combine oats and Charlie’s Old Time Buttermilk. Stir to blend well.
Cover and refrigerate until the next day.
After the oats and buttermilk have sat overnight, add egg, butter, and chocolate chips to the mixture.
Stir to combine. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add to oat
mixture and stir until moistened. (If batter is too thick – add up to Tbsp of buttermilk).
Preheat griddle over medium heat. Grease pan lightly with butter. Spoon batter, about 1/3 cup per
pancake, on to the griddle. Cook until tops are bubbly and appear dry. Flip and cook other side until
browned. Serve with maple syrup. Enjoy!
