Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1-5 jalapeños (depending on spice preference) – seeds and membranes removed
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 quart Turner’s Half & Half
- 1, 16oz block sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions:
- Melt butter in a large pot over low-medium heat.
- Add the onions, jalapeños, garlic, red pepper flakes and salt and cook until tender. (about 3-5 minutes)
- Add the flour and stir to combine.
- Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes to cook off flour taste.
- Pour in a quart of Turner’s Half & Half, stirring to combine. Do not let boil. Once it begins to steam, slowly add shredded cheese one handful at a time while whisking.
- Make sure all cheese is melted entirely before adding more. Continue with this method until all cheese is added.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
- Pair with soft pretzels, bread or chips as a dip, or drizzle over steamed broccoli or baked potatoes.
